What We Do – Supporting and Promoting Excellence

GA²LEN, the Global Allergy and Asthma Excellence Network was created in 2005 to combat fragmentation in the European research area, ensuring excellence in EU allergy and asthma research by bringing together institutions and researchers from across the EU. The network notably put in place centralized structures and a central office overseeing the multiple assets in knowledge in the different GA²LEN partners, enabling them to optimally synchronize their research efforts. GA²LEN is now recognized worldwide as a global network of collaborating academic centres in the field of allergy.
GA²LEN’s vision is to further reduce the burden of allergic diseases globally by improving the health of citizens with allergic diseases; increasing the competitiveness and boosting the innovative capacity of health-related industries and businesses while addressing health issues including emerging allergies.

Qualified centers

Centers are certified in the GA²LEN QM Programs in 16 countries. The initiative is implemented by the central GA²LEN Network Office in Berlin, which certifies each centre in all countries.

20 Years of experience

Accelerate the application of research results into clinical practice development

Healthcare

Educational Events

Organize educational events to promote knowledge and research on allergic diseases, asthma, and related conditions. Our events include workshops, webinars, and conferences where healthcare professionals, researchers, and students can exchange the latest scientific findings and treatment strategies. Focussing on fostering collaboration across disciplines, enhancing clinical practice, and advancing public health initiatives in allergic diseases worldwide.

Training

Promote training and greater integration between public and academic sectors and elevate the standard of care in allergy and asthma treatment.

Publications

Publish over 500 scientific works contributed by its members, focusing on advancements and research in allergy and asthma. These publications cover a wide range of topics, including the effectiveness of various treatments, epidemiological studies, and innovative approaches to allergy prevention and management. The network’s contributions significantly enhance the understanding of allergy and asthma, supporting its mission to reduce the burden of these conditions.
